Product QA & Testing – PiLock & Security Cameras

Client: AiNET
Role: QA Coordinator & Cross-Team Liaison
Timeline: Ongoing
Tools Used: Internal Bug Tracker, Slack, Email, Developer Logs
Project Overview:
AiNET was preparing to launch two smart products: the PiLock (a Raspberry Pi-based smart lock system) and a line of IP security cameras sourced from Chinese vendors. Each product required rigorous testing and issue tracking before being integrated into AiNET’s cloud platform.
My Contribution:
-
Tested software behavior, app interface, and system response based on logs and tester feedback
-
Acted as a bridge between the U.S.-based home testing team, Chinese hardware vendors, and internal developers
-
Logged issues, documented bugs, and clarified functionality discrepancies in real time
-
Coordinated with vendors for firmware documentation and with developers for API adjustments
-
Followed up on fixes, validated changes, and ensured tester feedback was fully addressed
-
Maintained centralized documentation to track versions, bugs, and communication trails
Impact:
✅ Enabled smooth communication between hardware vendors in China and U.S. testers/devs
✅ Reduced QA turnaround time by providing clear, consolidated feedback and bug documentation
✅ Helped ensure software readiness of PiLock and camera systems before broader rollout
✅ Supported integration between hardware behavior and backend/server systems
